Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is Chaminade's highest governing body. The Board is mandated by Chaminade's Articles of Incorporation to "provide for the education of youth according to the precepts of the Roman Catholic Church and the particular educational philosophy of the Society of Mary". The Board comprises volunteers who operate Chaminade as a non-profit, public benefit corporation. It is registered with both the Federal and State governments and is not organized for the private gain of any person.

The purpose of the Board of Directors is to govern Chaminade. The Board is a policy-making body and delegates through the President. It does this by hiring the President to operate the school, approving the
budget, managing the corporation's resources, creating a Strategic Plan, and formulating and participating in the Development plan.

Under no circumstances should corporal punishment be used with students. The Dean of Students should be notified of any ongoing concerns. The professional staff member should also promptly inform parents of on-going discipline issues or problems. For additional direction in this area, professional staff should consult with the appropriate Dean.
