2005 Inductees
Liz Buhn '00
After lettering in varsity soccer all four years, Liz was recognized her senior year as MVP Defense and First-Team All-League by the Mission League, Chaminade MVP and Southern California High School Player-of-the-Year. She was the only soccer player to start in all four CIF championship games that took place from 1997-2000.
Fr. Larry Calhoun
Fr. Larry has been the fencing coach at Chaminade for 17 years, producing State and National High School Champions and medalists at the World Cup tournaments. Five Eagle fencers have gone on to be NCAA All-Americans at Penn State, Notre Dame and Cal State Fullerton. He is nationally and internationally recognized for his successes and leadership in the fencing community.
Chris Costley '84
Chris was a three-year letterman in basketball and baseball. As a senior, he was First-Team All-CIF and named to the All-Southern California High School Basketball Team. In baseball he was All-CIF and led his team to the Southern Section CIF finals at Anaheim Stadium. He played baseball at St. Mary’s his freshman year, and at Pepperdine the next three years.
Gabe Crecion '96
In 1995, Gabe was named All-CIF, All-Valley First Team, All-State as well as Daily News Lineman-of-the-Year, playing tight end. Also excelling in baseball, he was Mission League MVP pitcher his junior year and All-League MVP as a senior. Gabe lettered four years as a tight end at UCLA and ended his football career in 2004 as a San Francisco 49er.
Michael Stevens '61
A three-year varsity football letterman playing fullback and middle linebacker, Mike was honored his senior year with a First-Team Olympic League Fullback selection and was voted League MVP. He scored the winning and only touchdown in the Eagles first ever victory over Harvard after five attempts.
Bill White '70
Bill was MVP in 1968 on the first Chaminade Canoga Park football team to play after a six-year hiatus. Bill lettered in football, basketball and track. His basketball team went to CIF playoffs in his last two years. At Stanford, he played wing on the Rugby team that was ranked first in the nation.
