  • How old does my child need to be to attend camp?

    Your child must be entering kindergarten to be eligible to attend camp.
  • What Is your Drop off and pick up procedure?

    • Please enter campus through the Cohasset Gate and proceed up the hill to the Bob Hope Center for program drop-off. There will be cones to assist you in knowing the traffic pattern.
    • You are welcome to park along the street adjacent to the Tutor Center and walk with your student and sign them in or drop off your student in front of the Student Center/Cafeteria and we will check them in and get them to class. Drop-off is between 7:50 am and 8:15 am.  Morning pick-up is between 11:35 am and 12:00 pm and pick-up from afternoon camp is no later than 3:15 pm.  
    • Traffic flow in the morning and afternoons is one-way, so you will exit OUT the Keswick gate. YOU MAY NOT ENTER CAMPUS THROUGH THE KESWICK GATE.
    • Program check-in will be held in front of the BOB HOPE student center. Look for the CENTER FOR EXCELLENCE TENT for check-in sign. Do not check in at the front office. This is where the high school summer school information is located. PLEASE DO NOT DROP OFF AT THE FIELD OR THE GYM.
    • From 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm daily, aftercare is available in Campus Ministry (located to the right of the main entrance) for an additional fee.  Please pre-register for aftercare if you anticipate needing this service during the week to ensure that this service is appropriately staffed to guarantee the safety of all the children attending.  The fee is weekly. If you arrive to pick up your child after 3:15 pm, you will pick them up in the Student Center and charged the appropriate fee.  Aftercare ends promptly at 5:30 pm.  If you are late picking up your child from aftercare, please note that campers picked up after 5:30 p.m. will be charged $1 per minute to be paid directly to the aftercare supervisor upon pick-up.  
    • Each student will be assigned to a counselor who will be responsible for taking students to class and assisting them during the day.
    • All program materials will be provided to students in their classrooms, it is not necessary to bring any classroom supplies to summer programs.
    • If you are participating in a sports camp, please be sure to wear appropriate athletic attire during the day, bring water and sunscreen.
    • Dress code during the summer includes modest, school-appropriate summer attire and closed-toe shoes. No flip-flops please.
  • Can my child attend camp if they have special needs?

    We are happy to discuss your family circumstances as they are on a case-by-case basis. Please email centerforexcellance@chaminade.org for more information.
  • What should my camper bring to camp?

    Comfortable shoes, refillable water bottle, and a packed lunch if your camper is staying the whole day and not buying a lunch.
  • How much does lunch cost per day?

    $8.75/Day
  • Are you a nut free campus?

    We are; however, other campers may bring food containing nuts.
  • What is the latest date to switch my child out of camp with no penalty?

    May 1st
  • How much will switching my child to another camp after the allowed date cost?

    After May 1st, a $25 change fee will be charged to switch camps.
  • How can we make changes after submitting our camper’s application?

    If you need to change your registrations or information on forms already submitted, please email us at centerforexcellence@chaminade.org, as you cannot change registration or edit a form yourself once it has been submitted. 
  • Do you have a medical professional on-site?

    Yes, we have an EMT on campus.
  • How much does camp cost?

    Our camp varies in price depending on the camp selected. Please click on the link below to view our schedule and pricing.
  • How many kids are there per class?

    We average between 20-30 kids per camp.
  • How many teachers do you have per class?

    We usually have one teacher per camp, but we also have camp counselors who stay with your little ones all day.
  • What is the ratio of camp counselors and campers?

    We usually have one counselor to 3 campers
  • What is included in the camp?

    At Chaminade’s Center for Excellence Camp, your camper is given the materials needed for camp, 
    Morning breakfast is served each morning after period 1, in the cafeteria, and is included in your program fees. Campers will be able to choose one of the following each morning:
    Breakfast Quesadilla (eggs and cheese)
    Breakfast Egg Sandwich  
    Yogurt with Fresh Fruit
    Wheat pancakes with sausage or bacon (on Mon., Wed. and  Fri.)
    French Toast (on Tues. and Thurs.)
    All items include choice of milk, orange juice or apple juice  
    The cafeteria is open daily for lunch. Lunch may be purchased daily with cash ($8.75 for a meal), or weekly through the online registration system.  A menu for July is below attached to this email. Students may also bring their own lunch.  All meal items will have fresh fruit and bottled water. Fresh baked cookies and some assorted ice creams will also be available for purchase.
    Your household registration confirmation is attached to this email for your review. You can login and view your account and registration status anytime through the online registration system.
    Camp schedules will be distributed Monday morning; these will not be sent out ahead of time. Each student will receive a lanyard with their classes and assigned classrooms printed on the back. Campers will be escorted to each class, supervised during nutrition and lunch, and assisted daily by their assigned counselors. Our primary concern is that your student has a safe, positive experience full of smart summer fun!
     
  • What are the camp hours?

    Camp runs two sessions:
    • 8:30 am – 11:30
    • 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm with drop off at 8:00 am
  • How are campers grouped?

    Campers are grouped by age and camp they are registered in
  • Do we offer Aftercare at any of our camps?

    Yes, we offer aftercare from 3:00 pm-5:30 pm for an additional $ 75/ a week. On short weeks, it will cost $65/ week.
  • Can I drop off late and pick up early on days when my camper has an appointment?

    Yes, we ask that you notify us the day before or the morning of.

If you need to make changes to your registrations or information on forms already submitted, please email us at centerforexcellence@chaminade.org, as you are not able to change registration or edit a form yourself once it has been submitted. 

Changes to your registration can be made up to one week prior to the program/course start date, with a full refund of course fees by sending a written request to centerforexcellence@chaminade.org.

Cancellations with less than a week's notice will NOT be eligible for refunds, but fees paid may be applied towards future programming.
