  • Eagles Explorer Camp (Grades K-2)

     Under the Sea
     
    Why not dive deep into the blue with an under-the-sea theme? The wonder and mystery of the ocean is such a captivating place to explore. After all, did you know that 80% of the ocean remains unexplored?
     
    The mystery of the ocean is what makes an under-the-sea theme so awesome. We will have our very own magical adventure through Neptune’s kingdom. We will explore all the interesting creature that live in our oceans and learn how we can keep their home clean.  Activities may include examining the anatomy of a fish and learn the ancient technique of gyotaku or “fish rubbing”, create a kelp forest and make your own submarine. You will explore many weird wonders that live under the sea through science language art, science, games and creative art activities.
     
    Just beware of passing mermaids – you may never want to leave!

    Welcome to Dance Explorations—a whimsical world where young dancers embark on a journey of self-expression, creativity, and rhythmic exploration. This vibrant camp is specially crafted for children in the elementary age group, offering a delightful blend of movement as they learn and try various dance genres.
    Campers will be able to express themselves through various dance styles, fostering a sense of confidence and individuality.
    Campers develop essential social skills through fun group activities and collaborative dance routines. Friendships blossom as they enjoy mastering new dance moves together in a supportive and inclusive environment. No prior dance experience is necessary.

    Join us at our Dance Explorations, where every twirl, leap, and pirouette contributes to a magical week of learning, friendship, and creative expression!

    Attire: Campers should come in athletic clothing so they can easily move in. Dance shoes are not necessary. Campers should be prepared to dance barefoot or in sneakers (hip-hop).

    A fun, creative camp designed for artists to explore different mediums and techniques. Activities include building paper creatures and friendship bracelets, sculpting & painting figures, drawing, and more! This week is all about creativity and exploration.

  • Drone Adventures

    Entering 5th – 8th grade
    The Drones are here! Let the battles begin. In this hands-on, interactive class you will learn how to safely fly drone robots. Working in teams, you will be able to code your drone to compete in missions that will prepare you for the ultimate team challenge at the end of the week. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

  • Make Your First 3D Video Game!

    Entering 3rd – 5th grade
    In this Black Rocket classic, you will go well beyond the limitations of the traditional 2D game design classes and create an immersive 3D world. Students will learn the physics behind 3D games, explore beginner event scripting, level design, controlling the flow of gameplay, and storytelling. Student projects will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Projects are only compatible with Windows devices. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

    Our planet is a beautiful place, and it is up to all of us to take good care of our world. We will explore the beauty of our neighborhood with the various colors, sizes, shapes, and texture of the natural world. Campers will create their own earth art using items found around us and try a Eco-Design where we take reduce, reuse, recycle to a new level!  We will also learn how to take care of our feathered friends by making bird feeder and keep our homes beautiful by creating seed bombs to grow more flowers and plants.  Let’s Go Green together!

    Join Coach Evans, the Chaminade coach for both girls and boys Varsity teams.  Coach Evans, his staff and players will teach your skills in both offense and defense.  This camp will be run indoor in our gym and outside on the field so please bring both athletic shoes and cleats (if you already have them). Players are grouped by age and ability. This is such a great camp - if you love soccer you won't want to miss this one.

Students will need to bring in LEGOs and/or action figures from home, but all other equipment is provided. Student-created films will be available on a password-protected website to share with friends and family. Returning students can create more advanced projects that build on previous years. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Think you’ve got what it takes to make your own invention?  Using imagination to make your own inventions also explore principles of engineering and design.  This week will create your own parachute and have a race to see whose design’s is the speediest and build your own catapult to see how far you can make an object fly.  If you can imagine it, you can create it!

    Unlock the secrets of drawing with personalized instruction! Start with the basics: shapes, proportions, and shading, and progress to more complex compositions. Students will work on drawings, observational studies, and tonal compositions while building their confidence and skills. By the end of the week, students will have completed tonal studies and have learned about comparative measurements.

    Entering 3rd – 6th grade
    Customize your Minecraft world and mod the classic game in this one-of-a-kind class. Learn scripting and logic statements as you create your first mods. Students will develop various new elements, gameplay mechanics, and world-generating mods to change how you play Minecraft. Projects will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students must have the Java version of Minecraft to take this class. Tablet, phone, and game console versions of Minecraft are not compatible. Returning students can create more advanced projects that build on previous years. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

    Discover the Lua coding language while designing experiences in ROBLOX®, an online universe where you can create anything you dream of. This class combines game design concepts, coding, and fun! New developers will learn to use Roblox’s Studio software to reimagine the popular game genres with your own custom code! Student-created games will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program

    Customize your own Minecraft world and mod the classic game in this one-of-a-kind class. Learn scripting and logic statements as you create your first mods. Students will create a wide variety of new elements, gameplay mechanics, and world-generating mods to change the way you play Minecraft. Projects will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students must have the Java version of Minecraft to take this class. Tablet, phone, and game console versions of Minecraft are not compatible. Returning students can create more advanced projects that build on previous years.     This one-week course gives students the opportunity to develop their skills and techniques in the following areas: music, movement, and acting. Students will work on scenes and songs from SEUSSICAL by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Faherty.
    This course will use Musical Theatre repertoire appropriate for the student's age, skill, talent, and ability. Students will develop essential skills and knowledge in the rehearsal process and promote confidence in their performance abilities. Students will have an opportunity to show off their talents to friends and family at the end of the workshop.

    Join our volleyball coaches in the gym to work on your game skills!  Troy Magorien, former Division 1 Men's Volleyball player from Pepperdine/Concordia and current pro player with Rising Tide along with Doug Magorien, former boys head coach of Westlake and Taft HS in a summer program to improve your current skills while having fun. Troy Magorien was a former MVP of the Marmonte league in the Conejo valley, All American AVCA HS player and coach for 949 volleyball club earning a bronze and silver medal at nationals. Doug Magorien has developed 36 Division 1 men and women's volleyball players and 1 current Olympian Kyle Ensing. Both have a wealth of knowledge to share.

  • Minecraft Redstone Engineers

    Entering 3rd – 6th grade
    Take the next step beyond simply “playing” Minecraft and become a true Redstone engineer. Expand your Redstone knowledge by constructing your carnival with various mini-games, roller coasters, and attractions powered by Redstone. Learn how to use Command and Structure blocks to incorporate them into your builds. Activate your skills and take your Minecraft structures to the next level!

  • Volleyball Camp (Grades 2-8)

    Join our volleyball coaches in the gym to work on your game skills!  Troy Magorien, former Division 1 Men's Volleyball player from Pepperdine/Concordia and current pro player with Rising Tide along with Doug Magorien, former boys head coach of Westlake and Taft HS in a summer program to improve your current skills while having fun. Troy Magorien was a former MVP of the Marmonte league in the Conejo valley, All American AVCA HS player and coach for 949 volleyball club earning a bronze and silver medal at nationals. Doug Magorien has developed 36 Division 1 men and women's volleyball players and 1 current Olympian Kyle Ensing. Both have a wealth of knowledge to share.

     Wonderful Wizarding World
     
    Fancy a spot of magic? We know that summer camp staff are already bursting at the seams with their very own kind of magic but why not join us for this week of camp for a lot of fun and cast a super-fun spell over the week?
    Create your own magic potion and decide what powers your potion will give the muggle drinking your potion. We will crat our own spells that are sure to terrify any nearby witch or wizard and will have the ghosts, ghouls, and goblins running for cover! Of course no Wizarding week would be complete without making your very own wand -  we couldn’t think of a more spellbinding week of camp!

  • Artistic Crafts Camp (4-8)

    Students will explore ceramics, printing/ stamp making, and acrylic painting and create multiple pieces each week using the designated material. At the end of the camp, students will be able to showcase their work at an “art show” for friends, family, and other summer students to attend.

  • Young Investors & Entrepreneurs

    Entering 5th – 8th grade
    Teach your kids the secrets of building financial wealth and security! Whether you want to build the next great American company, become a Wall Street tycoon, or be the millionaire next door by investing wisely - this camp is for you! In this course, you will learn the basics of investing in the stock market, the difference between assets and liabilities, the importance of diversification, and how to evaluate companies. You will also develop your own business plan and present your ideas to your peers to compete for their investments in a mock Shark Tank-style activity. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

  • Soccer

    Join Coach Evans, the Chaminade coach for both girls and boys Varsity teams.  Coach Evans, his staff and players will teach your skills in both offense and defense.  This camp will be run indoor in our gym and outside on the field so please bring both athletic shoes and cleats (if you already have them). Players are grouped by age and ability. This is such a great camp - if you love soccer you won't want to miss this one.

If you need to make changes to your registrations or information on forms already submitted, please email us at centerforexcellence@chaminade.org, as you are not able to change registration or edit a form yourself once it has been submitted. 

Changes to your registration can be made up to one week prior to the program/course start date, with a full refund of course fees by sending a written request to centerforexcellence@chaminade.org.

Cancellations with less than a week's notice will NOT be eligible for refunds, but fees paid may be applied towards future programming.
