  • Eagle Explorer Camp

    Our Eagle Explorer Camp offers an enriching experience through its exploration of our weekly themes and are designed to captivate students in cross-disciplinary activities. This program ignites a lifelong passion for learning while fostering essential skills in language arts, science, engineering, and art and movement. Each week unveils a distinct curriculum, ensuring a dynamic and engaging educational journey without repetition. Students in our Eagle Explorer Camp participate in a series of activities carefully crafted to build upon one another. Computer Programming

  • A.I. Adventures - Intro to Machine Learning

    Entering 3rd – 6th grade
    Explore the world of artificial intelligence to design fully interactive games and experiences using cutting-edge technology. This program combines artificial intelligence with coding to create an unforgettable learning adventure. Students will construct machine learning models that use image and text recognition within block-based coding software to build a portfolio of projects. Student-created projects will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

  • LEGO Films and Stop Action!

    Entering 3rd – 6th grade
    Make your LEGOs come to life! Bring in your favorite action figures or LEGOs and create a short film with your friends. Whether you want to recreate a scene from Star Wars or design a world of your own, this class brings your dreams to the screen. Students will need to bring in LEGOs and/or action figures from home, but all other equipment is provided. Student-created films will be available on a password-protected website to share with friends and family. Returning students can create more advanced projects that build on previous years. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

  • Minecraft Modders

    Entering 3rd – 6th grade
    Customize your own Minecraft world and mod the classic game in this one-of-a-kind class. Learn scripting and logic statements as you create your first mods. Students will create a wide variety of new elements, gameplay mechanics, and world-generating mods to change the way you play Minecraft. Projects will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students must have the Java version of Minecraft to take this class. Tablet, phone, and game console versions of Minecraft are not compatible. Returning students can create more advanced projects that build on previous years. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

  • Minecraft Redstone Engineers

    Entering 3rd – 6th grade
    Take the next step beyond simply “playing” Minecraft and become a true Redstone engineer. Expand your Redstone knowledge by constructing your own carnival with a variety of mini-games, roller coasters, and attractions powered by Redstone. Learn how to use Command and Structure blocks to incorporate them into your builds. Activate your skills and take your Minecraft structures to the next level!

  • ROBLOX Coders

    Entering 3rd – 6th grade
    Discover the Lua coding language while designing experiences in ROBLOX®, an online universe where you can create anything you dream of. This class combines game design concepts, coding, and fun! New developers will learn to use Roblox’s Studio software to reimagine the popular game genres with your own custom code! Student-created games will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program

  • Robotics for Competition

    Entering 5th – 12th grade
    Join Chaminade’s internationally recognized Eagle Engineering robotics team! Learn basic engineering concepts in a way that’s so fun you’ll forget that it’s preparing you as the next generation of innovators, inventors, and technicians. Students work in teams and create and operate a robot to compete in a game inspired by this year’s VEX Robotics Competition. No experience is necessary. The course fee includes a healthy snack and lunch every day of the week!

  • Video Game Animation

    Entering 3rd – 6th grade
    Bring  your  animations  to life with  design  tools  used  by  real  game  developers!  Create  sophisticated  sprite  animations  using  simple-to-learn  techniques  that  you  can  use i n  any  2D  editor.  Squash,  stretch,  and  shade  your  creations  to  make  your  characters  pop!  Students  do  not  need  any  prior  experience i n  game  design,  animation,  or  sketching.  Student-created  games  will  be  available  on  a  password-protected  Black  Rocket  website  to  share  with  friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

  • Young Coders

    Entering 3rd – 6th grade
    Every child can code! Develop your skills as a young coder by exploring block coding, JavaScript, and Python concepts while making your own playable mini-games. This introductory coding course is designed to get elementary-aged students excited about technology through a series of hands-on and engaging learning challenges.   • Young Game Designers

    Entering 3rd – 6th grade
    This beginner game development course is designed to get elementary-aged students excited about technology through hands-on and engaging learning activities. Recreate classic video games while exploring level design and digital arts concepts. Experience child-friendly software while learning the game development process. Show off the awesome games you create on a special, password-protected website to share with your friends and family!

  • YouTube Content Creators

    Entering 3rd – 6th grade
    Find your voice and leave your mark on the world! Whether you are six or sixteen, it’s time to start a career as the next YouTube star. Explore the variety of content and personalities that exist on YouTube and how to find your own niche. Learn the Dos and Don’ts of the platform and how to practice good digital citizenship. Develop your on-camera presence, your own channel branding, and professional editing skills. Take home a plan for launching your own channel with the content created in class! Student projects will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

  • Spark Academy

    Spark the Imagination! Dream it, design it, build it! Campers will unleash their imagination and problem-solving abilities to bring their ideas to fruition. Each week, campers have the opportunity to develop new skills and tackle new challenges with our weekly theme influencing the curriculum of projects.  Themes for camp are indicated in the registration system. Weekly themes for SPARK are:

  • Artistic Crafts Camp

    Entering 2nd – 7th grade
    Students will explore ceramics, printing/ stamp making, and acrylic painting, creating multiple pieces each week using the designated material. At the end of the camp, students will be able to showcase their work at an “art show” for friends, family, and other summer students to attend.

  • Cricut Camp Create!

    Entering 2nd – 7th grade
    It doesn’t take an artist to create one-of-a-kind projects. Using the computer program Design Space, students can easily tap into their creative side to create images on tablet computers. Watch their designs come to life as they create one-of-a-kind tote bags, water bottles, t-shirts, and more. Creativity and technology come together in this camp as students print their designs on Cricut Makers.

  • Dance and Cheer Camp

    Entering 2nd – 6th grade
    Let’s dance and cheer now that summer is near! Dance fundamentals and cheer will be the foundation of this camp. Learn cheers and fun choreography to perform for your friends and family at the end of the week. Join Chaminade’s Dance Director and L.A. Ram’s cheerleader, Jacquelyn Ward, to experience this fun-filled, funky week of dance!

  • Dance Explorer Camp

    Entering 1st – 5th grade
    Welcome to Dance Explorations—a whimsical world where young dancers embark on a journey of self-expression, creativity, and rhythmic exploration. This vibrant camp is specially crafted for children in the elementary age group, offering a delightful blend of movement, as they learn and try various dance genres.
    Campers will have the opportunity to express themselves through various dance styles, fostering a sense of confidence and individuality.
    In addition, movement, through fun group activities and collaborative dance routines, campers develop essential social skills. Friendships blossom as they share the excitement of mastering new dance moves together, in a supportive and inclusive environment.
    No prior dance experience necessary.
    Join us at our Dance Explorations, where every twirl, leap, and pirouette contribute to a magical week of learning, friendship, and creative expression!

    Attire: Campers should come in athletic clothing that they are able to easily move in. Dance shoes are not necessary. Campers should be prepared to dance barefoot or in sneakers (hip hop).

  • Introduction to Musical Theater

    Entering 2nd – 6th grade
    This one-week course is designed to give students the opportunity to develop their skills and techniques in the following areas: music, movement, and acting. Students will work on scenes and songs from DISNEY’S HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL.  This course will use Musical Theatre repertoire appropriate for the age, skill, talent, and ability of the students. Students will develop basic skills and knowledge in the rehearsal process and promote confidence in their performance abilities. Students will have an opportunity to show off their talents to friends and family at the end of the workshop.

  • Volleyball (Grades 3 - 8)

    Join our volleyball coaches in the gym to work on your game skills!  Troy Magorien, former Division 1 Men's Volleyball player from Pepperdine/Concordia and current pro player with Rising Tide along with Doug Magorien, former boys head coach of Westlake and Taft HS in a summer program to improve your current skills while having fun. Troy Magorien was a former MVP of the Marmonte league in the Conejo valley, All American AVCA HS player and coach for 949 volleyball club earning a bronze and silver medal at nationals. Doug Magorien has developed 36 Division 1 men and women's volleyball players and 1 current Olympian Kyle Ensing. Both have a wealth of knowledge to share.

If you need to make changes to your registrations or information on forms already submitted, please email us at centerforexcellence@chaminade.org, as you are not able to change registration or edit a form yourself once it has been submitted. 

Changes to your registration can be made up to one week prior to the program/course start date, with a full refund of course fees by sending a written request to centerforexcellence@chaminade.org.

Cancellations with less than a week's notice will NOT be eligible for refunds, but fees paid may be applied towards future programming.
